Today, Wednesday, 16th September 2026, I had the honour of attending the presentation of Bursary Awards to 200 Ikorodu undergraduates studying across the nation, made possible by the administration of the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Hon. Lateef Adedayo Ladega.

At the event, I extended my deepest appreciation to the Executive Chairman for his kindheartedness, and in particular this generous and deliberate commitment to the education of our indigenes — a gesture that lifts a real financial burden off 200 families and affirms that Ikorodu's investment in its own does not stop at the local government boundary.

I also used the occasion to extend similar appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the achievements recorded under NELFUND, which continues to support undergraduate students across the federation with school fees and upkeep allowances.

Education thrives where government at every level chooses to invest in it. Today's gesture is one more reminder of what that investment looks like in practice.
