Ikorodu, Lagos โ€” Thursday, 1st October 2026

The Education Secretary, Local Government Education Authority (LGEA), Ikorodu, Alhaji Taiwo Abiodun Odumbo, Esq., has felicitated with Prince Adegbola Amusa, pioneer Executive Secretary of LGEA Ikorodu, as he marks his 90th birthday today.

In a statement issued on behalf of the Ikorodu LGEA Education Family, the Education Secretary described Prince Amusa's life as a living testament to what sustained service to education looks like, noting that as pioneer Executive Secretary of LGEA Ikorodu, he laid foundations that the Authority continues to build upon today.

The statement further recalled Prince Amusa's wider legacy in the Division, noting that he served as the pioneer Principal of Ikorodu Grammar School before his transfer to Oriwu College, Ikorodu, where he eventually retired. Through both institutions, he shaped generations of Ikorodu's sons and daughters, many of whom are now captains of industry.

"It is not every day an institution gets to celebrate the very hands that built it, still present, still honoured. We are grateful for this privilege," the Education Secretary said.

He wished Prince Amusa continued good health, peace, and the joy of seeing the institutions he built still standing strong, as he marks nine decades of a life devoted to the growth of education in Ikorodu.
