The Education Secretary, Local Government Education Authority (LGEA), Ikorodu, Alhaji Taiwo Abiodun Odumbo, Esq., has felicitated with Nigerians as the nation marks its 66th Independence Anniversary, describing the classroom as one of the quiet but enduring fronts on which nationhood is built.

In a statement issued on behalf of the Ikorodu LGEA Education Family, the Education Secretary recalled that across his years as educationist, he came to understand independence not merely as a date on the calendar, but as a responsibility renewed every morning a teacher walks into a classroom and a child is given the tools to think, question and build. "A nation is not sustained only by the year it was born," he said, "but by what it chooses to build in every generation after."

He noted that as Nigeria reflects on 66 years of nationhood, the LGEA Ikorodu remains committed to strengthening the educational foundation of the Division, describing schools as the proving ground where the next generation of the nation's builders, leaders and thinkers are formed.

The Education Secretary congratulate pupils, teachers and staff across Ikorodu's public schools, and all Nigerians, on the milestone, urging continued commitment to the ideals of unity, diligence and nation-building that the day represents.

"Happy Independence Day, Nigeria," he said. "May this 66th year deepen our resolve to build a nation our children can be proud to inherit."
